ABOUT THE BUILD

Rockett Rubicon is a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon built with Rikki Rockett, drummer and founding member of the band Poison. It showed up at Poison Spyder Customs brand new, bone-stock, which didn’t last very long.

Rikki didn’t want a Jeep that only worked in one place. He wanted something that could crawl rocks, handle long trail days, and still feel right driving it every day. That meant figuring out where compromise actually made sense and where it didn’t. Ride quality mattered. Suspension mattered. Protection mattered. But it all had to work together without turning the Jeep into something you only trailered.

As the build came together, Rockett Rubicon started showing up everywhere. Open houses. Events. Trail runs. Photo shoots. The process was documented along the way, not because it was planned that way, but because people wanted to see it happen. It also ended up tied into charity raffles and land-use support, which fit the spirit of the build. Even with all that attention, it was still just a Jeep meant to be driven.

WHY POISON SPYDER

BUILT AROUND
THE DRIVER
Rockett Rubicon started with how it was going to be used, not a parts list. Rikki wanted a Jeep that could handle real trail time but still make sense as something he’d daily drive. That meant paying attention to how the Jeep felt behind the wheel. Poison Spyder parts made sense here because they didn’t force the build in one extreme direction. Everything stayed usable.
PROTECTION
WITHOUT OVERDOING IT
This build needed armor, but it didn’t need excess. The focus was on protecting the Jeep where it mattered and leaving the rest alone. Bumpers, rockers, and armor were chosen to take hits and improve clearance without turning the Jeep into a single-purpose rig. The result is a setup that holds up on the trail but doesn’t punish you the rest of the time.

SEEN AND USED
Rockett Rubicon spent plenty of time at events, shoots, and trail runs, but it was never treated like a fragile showpiece. It got driven. It got dirty. And it kept doing what it was built to do. That’s where Poison Spyder parts shine. They look good when they’re new, and they still look right after they’ve been used the way they were intended.
